Artist’s statement
Line, form, color, light, dark and a convincing handling of the medium are all skills of art but you still have to bring your Self. Art asks the creator to be in both a brave and vulnerable state.
Images shed light on the truth, and truth is often a shy and fugitive thing!
When an image perforates the confinement of words and "speaks" in a universal language, it will stay fresh and live on long after it is done.
Inspiration has come from Marsden Hartley for the pure lushness of his work, Arthur Dove for the poetry of shape, Josef Albers for the spatial language of color, and Paul Klee for his delight in play, and so many more.
